We believe in lots of things…
>that our voice needs to be heard in the industry.
>that we the staff have little say in work and our ideas does not seem to count. But its our work that makes the guests happy.
>there is a scant info about us or is relevant to us out there…
>that this shall not be so….
>that there is potential to growth and succeed in tourism industry.
>that there is much that can be done to overcome existing problems we face in resort life.
>Small things, .. can make a difference.

    My congratulation to your very interesting homepage !!!

    I love the Maldives and I am the president of the Germany registered non profit association Protect the Maldives, too. We make eleven-lingual brochures and I think that some of your readers saw our brochures already in some resort bungalows. it is our goal to inform as many as possible tourists about the sensitive ecological balance of the Maldives, so that they behave as in an environmentally sound way as possible in their vacation. We determined with joy that the Maldivian peoples are very proud of their country and therefore our brochures are also written in Dhivehi for the Maldivian peoples and in Shinghalese for the foreign resort workers.
    We send our brochures always free of charge to the hotel-islands and I hope that we can still supply as much as possible resorts without cost.

  15. The objectives of this site are great and I wish you all the best. I have read through most of the articles and just wanted to say that I was and am interested to read more articles that focus on the objectives of your site. Alot of your articles are about your views (which is also one of your objectives) but about a wide range of topics that do not seem to be related to Maldivian resort workers specifically. Now, it is your site so by all means go and do as you wish. However, for someone wishing to understand more about the situation of Maldivian resort workers, then it is somewhat confusing and time-consuming going through your site. Anyway, all the best in everything and I will visit again soon for more articles about your lives in resorts (and particularly how readers/public/civil society can maybe support improvements).

      Thanks for pointing out and we acknowledge there is some house keeping needed in our blog to make it more relevant to fellow workers. We will keep doing that as soon as time permits. As for seeking particular themes its best to use keyword searches on the search box and our cloud and category widgets which we will try to keep relevant to the articles written. As for the articles, we are trying to diversify our interests which hopefully will appeal to some of our readers but we will try to keep close to the context of resort life wherever possible.
